Lecture 11 - Maritime environmental policy and green shipping

Welcome

On this lecture, we will touch upon aspects of shipping governance, the conventions system, and enforcing conventions methods.

Then we will touch on aspects of environmental policy, comparing the advances in policy at the EU and IMO level.

For the second part, we will get into the EU and IMO mecanisms for establishing Market Based Measures. We will also discuss with a case, the dilemma of shiponwers of constructing new vessels with green fuel capabilities or withstand the penalty.
